FAQs about when and where to find me

Can I come see you/ what are your opening hours?

Face to face appointments are available from my studio (3) at the Silk Mill in Frome. We can discuss specialist requirements, answer questions and show you sample swatches.

Alternatively I can post you paper samples, and answer queries via email.

What if I’m bad at sticking to appointments, can’t I just drop in?

The rules of my studio building mean that I can’t open my studio to drop-ins, but so long as I am expecting you within a vague time frame it’s okay if you are early or late. The only thing to be aware of is that someone else may have booked an appointment before or after your booked-in time, so I can only guarantee my availability at the correct appointment time. If you’re running late best to email or text me if you can (07404 909404). Press 3 on my intercom when you get here, and I’ll answer if I’m still available. If you miss it altogether I’ll be happy to reschedule however many times it takes until you make it in.

If you are currently standing at my door with your artwork but no appointment booked, then press 3 on the intercom. If I’m not already in an appointment I will answer, and come down to meet you. If the intercom goes to an answer machine that means I’m not available right now.

Where is your studio?

Find me at Studio 3, The Silk Mill, Saxonvale, Frome, BA11 1PT. (Some sat navs send people to the wrong place. Head down Vicarage Street towards M&S).

My studio is on the first floor, so there are some stairs to negotiate (see the next question if you’re disabled or unable to use stairs).

When you get to the Silk Mill, go to the main studio entrance and press “3” on the intercom. See the photo below to see the part of the Silk Mill you need to go to. Call 07404 909404 if you get lost.

I usually come downstairs to meet first time visitors to show you the way to go once you have arrived, but if it helps to orientate you my studio is up one flight of wooden stairs on the first floor, and is along the corridor a little: the second door on the left.

Can I park there?

There’s a small car park at the Silk Mill (through the big green gates opposite the place that currently has big new decking being built). If you luck upon a space you will need to borrow a visitor parking docket from me. If there are no spaces, there’s two public car parks within a 3 minute walking distance, one near the Bennett Centre, and the other opposite M&S.

I’m disabled, or would rather avoid stairs. How can I visit you?

Disabled/ less-abled visitors can be accommodated on the ground floor, please email me to book a ground floor appointment.

This is the studio entrance of the Silk Mill. Press 3 on the intercom (which isn’t shown in this older photo, but it’s located just to the left of the wooden double doors pictured, below the lamp).

My studio

This wall is at the other side of the building to the studio entrance, so if you’re here you need to go around to the other side of the building.
